COLLEGE BOARD TEST OPTIONS

BY CLASS AND TIMELINE

As you may observe on the two tables below, the changes by the College Board on the Redesigned PSAT and SAT will affect the most students on the Class of 2017. The Class of 2016 - will be able to test with the current SATs.  The Class of 2018 will ONLY use the redesigned tests. Thus, early preparation for the Class of 2017 would be most recommended. Your 2017 students may want to start with a comparison test at the end of their Sophomore year to determine which test is better for them: SAT or ACT.  Then develop a strategy based on their skill sets and busy schedules.  After March 2016, there will ONLY be a Redesigned SAT with limited banks of questions, unknown correlations with the current SAT or ACT, and a developing policy within the various colleges around the country.  So start early to determine if you should rely on the current SAT or ACT or if the Redesigned test is hte best for your student.
